Reaction Channels

Do you ever find yourself scrolling through posts. I started doing this on YouTube.

Amongst the posts I discovered accounts who react to a range of things. My original two favourites are people exploring Australia or Australian musicians that many outside of Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand have never heard of before. When you have grow up in a place many have heard of before but few have visited there can a tendency to not know a whole lot. Their curiosity always gets me to watch the first post, and how open they are gets me to subscribe. I follow way too many channels. Humour or open confusion will get me to comment.

Spending time peering into the lives of others resulted in many hours of lost time. I needed that in the past because it helped me escape things that were making my life difficult. Over time I have found channels covering history and facts I did not know. On occasion I will throw in a dash of comedy, because laughter is a lovely tonic.

Yet, I still find myself watching reaction channels...

Here is my roll call. I suspect it will not be the last.

Jordan has inspired me to start writing again. Thoughful and considered when they take their time to experience music and the world around them.

Knox Hill has taught me more about rap than I ever planned to know. I now understand what lyrical masters can be found throughout rap. Whatever Knox drops is worth catching but I still need Knox to break down what Knox just said in his own songs...

Always thoughtful and considered. At times can challenge my perspective.

Sees the world differently to myself and brings years of experience.

The sweetest person who can tell you the exact note someone sang and then sing it perfectly themselves. This channel was one of the 1st I discovered who helped me understand what a reaction channel could become.

I never know what I'll get. When Karen joins it's always better...
Still looking forward to a time in the future when we may get to hear some original content.

There is an array of experts

With experts that connect you to songs you have known for years. Then you experience a song in a new and beautiful way

There have been channels that inspire me and see the world differently.
Still plan to go back and watch some of the deeper dives.

Some individuals bring to a reaction years of experience and a skill set that amazes.

Sometimes you will find someone who lives their life to find ways to help others. Hoping there will soon be a day I can do more than just follow.

Then there are those who leave you laughing. Warning the following are not quick reactions but always memorable

Or those who leave you in awe at their own talent

I could keep adding to this list the many channels that I briefly found and the ones I have followed for years. Many have become my radio station where I get to experience music I love. It is a world I am glad I found when the world for me was at its lowest point. Through this journey I have found communities that intersect the reaction community.

It felt right to share a list of some reaction channels because they have woven themselves into my life. It was this experience that brought me to a new discovering that changed my life and helped me embrace hope. That chapter will be for a different post.

Is all the glimmer gold?

I live in a world promising a new way of life. That things will change and never be the same! The next wave of tech is promising versions of things I have heard before.

Some of it holds an inescapable truth. Other parts are the same lines told before. Tell me if you have heard this before?
If you sign up you will find unimaginable wealth. All you need is to be willing to spend money, put in the time and hardwork.  Many travelled to other side of the world to pan for gold. Most of those people who became wealthy sold the tools not generally the ones who gave up their money, time and hardwork.

I have heard the sales pitch, and I have also heard honest answers by those who have nothing stopping them telling the truth. I see the truth in what is showing promise. Where your experience is made easier including removing barriers to what you want. Yet this can be turned into an experience where there is no one at the other end of the line even if you are trying to help improve the experience.

If you understand how the tool came into being you realise just how much hardwork needed to be done in order to create a shiny new AI tool. I was sitting in a presentation of a new tool that utilises AI to create what can be a game changer for users if you have the money to implement the tool. As I was considering how it functions I realised why it seemed so powerful. Decades of work have been undertaken by many organisations around the world and shared openly with others to reach this point. Now a company can put in some time and money to incorporate this into their system with few barriers.

I keep waiting for the latest bubble to burst. Yet, the longer it holds the more damage caused. The promised tech is built upon promises that are yet to hold up financially. The infrastructure that is being built is soon going to be obsolete because a different tech change is coming - both known and unknown.

At least if you strike gold it is something you can hold in your hands. How do you now measure what is real and what is someone selling the promise of unimaginable wealth if you are willing to sign up.

Starting again

A lot of time has passed since my original intention - To share what inspires me to create. It has been nearly a decade since my last post and more since my last creative related post.

Striving for perfection is beyond me to achieve when sometimes all I can do is move through each day. I have been waiting for creativity to arrive... Time to simply create something rather than nothing at all.

Time to seek a new goal.

My intention is now - Post as a way to share beyond myself. I have no expectations that lots of readers will stumble upon my musings.

The world is full of information you could drown in and it is hard to know what is real. In a world where it is hard to see the truth all I can be is honest.

In this space I still want to create, I need to create. There is nothing in life like the feeling of creating something from almost nothing. A few words or a captured moment that becomes something unexpected. I then work my way towards feeling like I no longer own what I created.

To start again on a blog seems old fashioned in a world of shiny platforms and ways to share. This is how I have always created, with words and pictures. This is how I can strive to be honest. Sometimes the art of writing about your own experiences is the best way you can tell the truth, even to yourself.

For the first time in a while ideas of what I can create next are flowing. Possibilities with a dash of the unknown leaves me with a sense of hope.

That'll do...
